Video Editing & Special Effects
Considering film school? How do you get started? Our summer film camps for teens and kids ages 10-15 will use award-winning and movie-making film production software, Apple Final Cut Studio® (with Final Cut Pro 7®). Additionally, students will also use Adobe® Photoshop®, the industry standard professional graphic software. Edit scenes using real footage from Freedom Park, an award- winning, independent feature film, and compare your “cut” to the pros.
Further enhance your movie by adding professional video clips from a large online video library. Mark and trim clips in a timeline, add music, sound effects and eye-popping special effects with Adobe® After Effects® as you complete your vision. You’ll not only take home a copy of Freedom Park, you’ll also receive a copy of your final project and showcase it on YouTube®. To focus on post production quality, cameras are not used as part of our curriculum. Welcome to internalDrive! Do Something Big this summer!

Gaming Activities: Gaming Tournaments, Ultimate Gaming Weekends
General gameplay is a fun aspect of our summer camps, but does not infringe on instructional time. This season will feature Gaming Tournaments and Ultimate Gaming Weekends showcasing the industry’s best. We use NVIDIA® GeForce® gaming cards for peak gaming performance. Students will play BIG titles from Epic Games®, Activision®, Blizzard® Entertainment, THQ®, Microsoft® GameStudios™ and more. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for our campers, we have adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games with ESRB ratings of “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature to be used as part of our curriculum in a supervised environment. We take our corporate responsibility and iD family values very seriously, but cannot guarantee that younger students will avoid complete contact with these games. Please know that we make every effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups.
Note 1: Gaming does NOT infringe on instructional time.
Note 2: Games with ESRB Ratings of E, T and M are used at our camps.

Skill Level & Ages
Customized for beginner to advanced learners ages 10-15. Curriculum in our video editing camps is delivered in small student clusters and is individually tailored to each student. All students will go home with a completed project at the end of the week at this digital video camp.
What’s New?
New curriculum! Instead of shooting footage with a video camera, this season’s updated curriculum will focus heavily on editing and post-production, using Apple Final Cut Studio® (with Final Cut Pro 7®) and Adobe® Photoshop®. Each student will edit and produce their own project using professional video clips, as well as footage from award-winning independent film Freedom Park. Advanced students interested in creating impressive special effects will learn Adobe After Effects®.
How We Teach
Industry Leading Curriculum & Instruction
Average 6 Students per Staff for Personalized Learning
We maintain an average of just 6 students per instructor. The small ratios ensure personalized instruction and the highest caliber technology summer camp experience. Students at iD are taught only by hand-selected adult staff.
Adult-Only Staff – No Counselors-in-Training
Our entire staff is comprised of adults age 18 and over. iD Tech Camps has respectfully created a no Counselors-in-Training (CIT) policy at our summer technology camps. Students learn best from adults who have mastered their skills in technology. Instruction is delivered by graduate and undergraduate students majoring in the fields of Film, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Education, Media Arts, and other related fields.
Beginner to Advanced
Our ever-evolving curriculum is designed for beginning through advanced learners, allowing students to move along at their own pace with customized lessons for a fun and appropriate challenge. We use award-winning brand-name software.
Weeklong Courses
Students focus on one course topic per week. Our weeklong kids camps and teen camp courses provide students with a firm understanding of their course topic. Many students enroll in multiple weeks of summer camp by exploring many different course topics.
