Game Modding – Warcraft® lll & StarCraft®
The Scoop – Overview
Game modding is hot in the gaming industry! Many video game companies are actively promoting “modding” (modification of) existing video games – a colossal trend sweeping the industry. In this summer camp course, iD “modders” will “upgrade” and redesign some of the biggest gaming titles in the industry, Warcraft® lll: Reign of Chaos®, Warcraft lll: The Frozen Throne® or StarCraft®. Here’s your chance to use critical thinking skills to alter gameplay, ultimately building a personalized game with customized maps and levels.
Students in this game modding teen camp will learn to add new levels, redesign or replace characters and customize gameplay through interactive modding tools. Advanced students will learn scripting, ultimately modifying the code. Come mod with us and learn from instructors who are avid gamers. Each student will take home a copy of Warcraft lll: Reign of Chaos or StarCraft to continue learning and modding well after summer camp is over. It’s your game. It’s your world. Customize it. Welcome to internalDrive! Do Something Big this summer!

Featured Software
Students will mod one of the hottest selling video games of all time, Warcraft lll or StarCraft. Many of the industry’s critics have praised StarCraft as one of the best and most important video games ever produced, raising expectations for developing real-time strategy games. StarCraft has been praised for creating a gripping story and revolutionizing the use of unique factions in real-time strategy gameplay. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is the third game set in the Warcraft Universe with The Frozen Throne as the expansion pack. The game is a single-player campaign told in a progressive way through all four of the game’s races. Learn more about other cutting edge products used at our summer camps.

Gaming Activities: Gaming Tournaments, Ultimate Gaming Weekends
General gameplay is a fun aspect of our summer camps, but does not infringe on instructional time. This season will feature Gaming Tournaments and Ultimate Gaming Weekends showcasing the industry’s best. We use NVIDIA® GeForce® gaming cards for peak gaming performance. Students will play BIG titles from Epic Games®, Activision®, THQ®, Microsoft® GameStudios™ and more. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for our campers, we have adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games with ESRB ratings of “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature to be used as part of our curriculum in a supervised environment. We take our corporate responsibility and iD family values very seriously, but cannot guarantee that younger students will avoid complete contact with these games. Please know that we make every effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups.
Note 1: Gaming does NOT infringe on instructional time.
Note 2: Games with ESRB Ratings of E, T and M are used at our camps.
