The Scoop - Overview

From televised tournaments and corporate sponsors to six-figure tournament prizes and gamer-branded gear, competitive professional video gaming is sweeping the planet, spawning an industry and leagues such as the Championship Gaming Series™. These professionals are young gaming enthusiasts who are serious about gaming as a sport. You may have heard it called eSports or Cyber Sports--no matter what you call it, iD Tech Camps is proud to offer our Gaming Athletes course.

In this game camp for teens, dedicated gamers will learn tactics and strategies developed by professional gamers for use in some of the most competitive and popular PC games, including Unreal Tournament® 3 and Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™. Practice against others in this course and then get networked up to other iD Tech Camps locations across the nation to simulate real tournaments and clan matches. You'll also learn the skills of creating machinima for highlighting videos of your best in-game moves and shots. Welcome to iD! Skill Level, Ages & Tuition

Customized for beginner to advanced learners ages 13-17. Curriculum is delivered in small student clusters and is individually tailored to each student. All students will go home with a completed project at the end of the week.

Our Recommendations

This course is for serious gamers. If you are already accustomed to competitive game play, whether through clan matches, guild play, or tournaments, this course will help you hone your skills even more, giving you an edge with practice strategies, tips, and tricks. If you are a casual gamer looking for more, try out this course to begin your journey down the path of competitive gaming.

Note: The software used in this course contains content with an ESRB rating of "M" for Mature.

Gaming Activities: Gaming Tournaments, Ultimate Gaming Weekends

General gameplay is a fun aspect of our summer camps, but does not infringe on instructional time. This season will feature Gaming Tournaments and Ultimate Gaming Weekends showcasing the industry’s best. We use NVIDIA® GeForce® gaming cards for peak gaming performance. Students will play BIG titles from Epic Games®, Activision®, Blizzard® Entertainment, THQ®, Microsoft® GameStudios™ and more. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for our campers, we have adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games with ESRB ratings of “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature to be used as part of our curriculum in a supervised environment. We take our corporate responsibility and iD family values very seriously, but cannot guarantee that younger students will avoid complete contact with these games. Please know that we make every effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups.

Note 1: Gaming does NOT infringe on instructional time.
Note 2: Games with ESRB Ratings of E, T and M are used at our camps.

Cool Summer Camp Activities

Balance is the key to every week at iD. While we are in the labs a majority of the day, we certainly take time out for fun summer camp activities. Students may participate in ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag, fun outdoor teambuilding games, soccer, etc. If sports not your thing, no worries! We've got awesome gaming tournaments, Guitar Hero®, social time and more! Details.
