The 1st game of North American football was played between McGill and Harvard in 1874. This resulted in the spread of American football throughout the other Ivy League schools. The 1st organized hockey club in the world, comprised of McGill students, played their 1st game in 1877, with the 1st recorded rugby match occurring in Montreal. Tours & Activities
Take advantage of Montréal’s cultural scene through excursions to museums and/or other centers of interest that celebrate the arts. Students may be allowed to travel in groups within local boundaries with the understanding that these privileges may be enjoyed only if they remain responsible. Our supervising staff will always be in the nearby vicinity to check-in with students. On weekends between session weeks, students may venture out (with iD Staff) to cities like Ottawa and Québec City. Academy students enjoy extra privileges appropriate for their environment and maturity levels. While we maintain standard supervision ratios, teens will still feel a sense of freedom.
After each day’s instruction, students may want to spend their evenings engaging in traditional activities like ultimate frisbee or soccer; if sports aren’t your thing, you can sign-up for an instructor workshop. Some topics may include stop-motion animation or music composition. In the evening, we’ll screen films, critique projects, and collaborate to get the creative juices flowing.
Want to stay the weekends? We take additional off-site excursions. Most students choose to stay the weekends, but weekend stays are optional. The cost is US $349 per weekend and is all-inclusive.
