Program Overview
Summer 2009 will be our 4th season hosting the iD Gaming Academy at prestigious universities nationwide. The iD Gaming Academy at Stanford University offers an intensive, immersive experience in the dynamic world of video game development, including 3D modeling, game programming and level design. Each session spans two weeks - perfect for new and returning students who want to focus on a single aspect of game development, or enroll in multiple sessions covering comprehensive topics.About This Location
We've chosen to host our teen academic summer camps at Stanford University because it has established itself for having one of the country's best engineering educational programs. Stanford University is roughly 30 miles from both the San Jose and San Francisco airports. The Stanford campus plan was designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed New York's Central Park. Stanford University represents the best that higher education has to offer - and has attracted the best and the brightest intellectual minds by offering an extensive selections of studies for over a century. Nestled in the ideal weather zone between the bay and the ocean, our Silicon Valley academy at beautiful Stanford University give students the opportunity to take in iD's challenging program while enjoying the culturally rich, collegiate atmosphere.Note: We do not disclose the precise location of our gaming academy on the university campus to the general public. After you register, specific instructions will be provided in your student's Camp Account.
About our Courses
We are offering three courses for students to choose fromGame Modeling with Maya®, Game Programming with
Microsoft® XNA™-NEW!, and Level Design with Unreal® Engine 3-NEW! Students use industry-standard applications including Autodesk® Maya® Unlimited, Adobe® Photoshop® CS4, XNA for the Xbox 360®, Unreal® Engine 3, and of course some of the latest, most popular commercial video games for instructional purposes and serious game play. Skill Level, Ages & Tuition
Skill Level & Ages: Beginner to advanced students, age 13-18.Tuition: US $2,999 (two-week session, includes instruction, room, board & activities).
Ultimate Gaming Weekends: US $325 per weekend (optional but recommended).
To Reserve Space: Minimum deposit of $400 is required.

Gaming Tournaments at the iD Gaming Academy
What better way to learn how commercial games are created then to fire up the most cutting edge titles and play! LAN parties are a big part of what makes the iD Gaming Academy so immersing. With industry leading names like NVIDIA®, Unreal Tournament® 3, Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™ and Valve® Steam™ technology, you know you are in for many incredible nights of ducking, dodging and fragging.
Our Computer Gaming Tournaments use some of the hottest and most recognized game titles on the market, and all students will have opportunities for gameplay with local tournaments, as well as regional tournaments across Academy locations. We have partnered with NVIDIA® to ensure the most cutting-edge network gaming possible and use NVIDIA GeForce® gaming cards for peak PC gaming performance When we need to get out of our chairs for some console action, we’ll break out the Nintendo® Wii, Guitar Hero® or Xbox 360®.
Gaming Tournaments are an exciting element of our teen activities, but do not replace or infringe on instructional time. NOTE: Games in our Gaming Tournament are rated “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature and are selected at the sole discretion of iD Tech Camps staff.

iD Tech Camps (Ages 7-17)
We’re celebrating our 8th season as the Palo Alto area’s premier summer computer camp destination. Our popular day camps and overnight camps at Stanford University boast an average 6 students per instructor (you won’t find counselors-in-training or online tutorials at iD) and customized curriculum for beginner to advanced learners.
You can register for one or several weeks of our summer camps and experience a college campus! Live in the college dorms! Design a 2D or 3D video game! Build a web site in Flash®, program a robot, edit your own video with the best brand name products from Adobe®, Apple®, Autodesk®, Canon®, Microsoft® and more. Read more.
