Program Overview
The Gaming Academy is a two-week, overnight, teen-only program. All graduates leave the Academy with a gaming portfolio and the tools to excel in the rapidly expanding field of game development. Students will also tour a big-name studio and see how the pros work. Beyond the exposure to game industry essentials, students can expect late-night NVIDIA®-powered gaming tournaments with titles including Unreal Tournament® 3, Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™, Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3, and a vast library of games from Valve® including Counter-Strike®, Half-Life® 2 and Left 4 Dead™.
Quick Facts
- Tuition (includes room, board, activities, instruction) is US $3,299 per two-week session.
- Weekend stays (optional) cost $349 per weekend and are not included in the program tuition. Weekend stays are highly recommended and most students enroll in them.
- Students can register for various courses and multiple sessions for a complete gaming experience.
- Commercial game studio tour included.
- An average of 8 students per instructor.
- Required: A strong desire to pursue a career in, or learn more about, commercial Game Development or Professional Gaming.

Serious Gameplay & Gaming Tournaments
After each day’s instruction, we’ll learn from the experts by playing some of the most popular commercial games on the market. Beyond the exposure to game industry essentials, students can expect late-night NVIDIA®-hosted gaming tournaments (including multiplayer console tournaments during evening activities) with titles including Unreal Tournament® 3, Call of Duty® 4:Modern Warfare™, and a vast library of games from Valve® including Counter-Strike®, Half-Life® 2 and Left 4 Dead™, as well as LAN parties and instructional hours that begin later in the day, depending on the location. But don’t let the gameplay fool you, this is all part of the academy curriculum. Working on both team and personal projects from concept to completion, our teen camp graduates leave the academy with a gaming portfolio, cutting-edge software, and the tools to not only compete, but excel, in the rapidly expanding fields of game development and professional video gaming.

Other Summer Technology Programs
iD Tech Camps (Ages 7-17)
North America’s #1 Tech Camp, celebrating our 12th season! We offer hands-on summer technology camps for beginner to advanced students ages 7-17 at over 60 prestigious universities nationwide and Canada. Courses include 2D & 3D Video Game Design, Game Modding, Character Modeling, as well as Digital Movie Editing, Website Design with Flash® Animation, Programming and Robotics.
iD Programming Academy (Ages 13-18)
The Programming Academy offers intensive, assignment-driven programming workshops in three course topics: iPhone® App Development, Facebook® App Development and C++ Programming and Rocket Science. All graduates leave the Academy with a programming portfolio and the tools to excel in the rapidly expanding field of computer programming. Students will also tour a big-name studio and see how the pros work.
iD Visual Arts Academy (Ages 13-18)
The Visual Arts Academy offers intensive instruction in three course topics: Film Production with Final Cut Studio®, Professional Photography and Professional Web Design. All graduates leave the Academy with a portfolio and the tools to excel in the rapidly expanding field of multi-media design. Students will go on excursions and visit nearby studios to see how the pros work.
