iD Tech Camps invites you to join us for our 1st season at our University of Waterloo location in Waterloo, Ontario. iD Tech Camps is North America’s #1 summer computer camp. Our summer kids camps and teen camps are designed for beginner to advanced learners. Our popular University of Waterloo summer day camps and overnight camps average 6 students per instructor for customized instruction delivered by highly trained adult-only staff.
We offer a variety of cutting edge summer camp courses for kids and teens including video game design, Flash animation, programming, video editing, and more–using the best brand name products from Adobe®, Apple®, Autodesk®, Microsoft® and beyond. We have chosen the University of Waterloo to host our summer computer camps and teen camps in Ontario, Canada because of its reputation as Canada’s “high-tech” university. Completing a large building boom in 2008, the University’s campus is now covered with an impressive array of sights and structures. The University of Waterloo is very forward thinking and aims to continue to look to the future in its academic offerings and coursework. Getting to Campus: Our specific location on campus at this Ontario summer camp, along with maps and driving directions, will be found in your Camp Account after you register. The University of Waterloo is about 90 minutes west of Toronto and three hours east of Windsor-Detroit.

Faculties at the University of Waterloo: University of Waterloo Faculties includes the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Environment, Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Science.
Student Population: There are just under 25,000 undergraduate students at the University of Waterloo, comprised of 23,142 full-time students and 1,711 part-time students. The graduate student body totals about 4,000 students with 3,315 of those being full-time students.
Rankings: Labeled as the “Silicon Valley of the North,” the Waterloo region has produced many high-tech and knowledge-based companies. In the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, University of Waterloo students have won the gold medal in the year 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2005. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2009), the University of Waterloo ranked 27th in the world for technology. Athletics:T he University of Waterloo’s mascot is a lion named King Warrior. His initials, KW, represent a common nickname for the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo. Camp Activities for Kids & Teens
Age appropriate fun for kids 7-12 and teens 13-17. Students will receive an average of 5-6 hours of technical instruction per day mixed with breaks, lunch, and fun camp activities we like to call TechReation. Participation in activities is encouraged, but optional. Physical activities may include ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag, fun teambuilding games, soccer, etc., and other camp activities like Guitar Hero®, video gaming tournaments, social time and more. Each week wraps up with family showcase at 2:00 PM on Friday. Check out the cool projects created by students, meet the instructor, and attend our diploma ceremony.
Attention Ontario Teens! Our summer camps in Waterloo, Ontario at University of Waterloo just got even cooler for our teen students. We have specialized teen activities including free time to hang out, movie nights, extra project time, and as always, plenty of gaming. Check out our other cool teen-only programs like the iD Gaming Academy, iD Visual Arts Academy, iD Programming Academy and Ultimate Gaming Weekends (offered at select locations).

Weekend Stays
Stay the Weekend at iD this Summer!
Weekend Stays and Ultimate Gaming Weekends are offered at many iD locations.
Weekend Stays / Ultimate Gaming Weekends are great options for students looking to bridge the gap between two weeks of camp or for students who want to stay and game with us the weekend following their camp week.
Overnight students ages 12-17 at iD Tech Camps, as well as those registered for our Teen Academies (ages 13-18), can bridge the weekend between consecutive overnight camp weeks. As an exception, overnight students ages 10-17 at Stanford University may also participate. The cost is $349 per weekend and is all-inclusive (housing, meals, supervision, gaming, activities, etc). This offering only applies to overnight students and is not stand-alone.
Not a serious gamer? We’ve got you covered. You can take it easy in the labs, play retro games, read a book, play outdoor sports, or just keep a low profile.
