Computer Camps Held at Bentley University

iD Tech Camps, Ages 7-17

WEEKLONG | CO-ED | DAY CAMPS | OVERNIGHT CAMPS
COURSE TOPICS: VIDEO GAME DESIGN, PROGRAMMING, APPS, WEB DESIGN & MORE

Ignite your internalDrive and do something BIG this summer! iD Tech Camps is a family company – and our company is a unique place. Some call it magical. We’re the World’s #1 Tech Camp – consistently ranked a Top Workplace. One of our big secrets? Ridiculously small ratios. Small ratios mean personalized instruction – just 8 students per instructor or fewer – or you get a free week of camp, guaranteed! Our adult-only staff are tech-savvy undergraduates, graduate students and professionals, passionate about teaching game design, film, computer science and more.

This is our 3rd season hosting summer camps at our Bentley University location. We strike the right balance between off-computer activities (creative games, sports, life skills, etc.) and essential technology education to foster STEM skill development (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Our popular Bentley University summer day camps and overnight camps are located in Waltham, MA.

We offer a variety of cutting-edge summer camp courses for beginner through advanced learners. Kids and teens learn one course topic per week, specializing in video game design, iPhone® app development, Flash® animation, programming, video editing and more – using the best brand name products from Adobe®, Apple®, Autodesk®, Google, Microsoft® and beyond. Come explore the college campus and gain skills that will last long after summer camp ends. Continue to Step 2 for Course AvailabilityTuition & Dates.

Per Massachusetts state law, “This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local Board of Health. Parents may request copies of background check, health care and discipline policies as well as procedures for filing grievances.” (105 CMR 430.00, 430.190 C, D)

Bentley’s classic New England campus is just minutes from Boston and stretches across 163 acres in Waltham, Massachusetts, making it the perfect summer camp location. Our Bentley College Summer Camp near Boston Logan International Airport is only about a 20 minute drive. Come check out our Boston summer camps!

Staff Ratio Guarantee

iD Guarantee

Students learn in small classes for a personalized experience. How small? Classes typically have 5, 6, 7, or 8 students – but never more than 8 per instructor. That's the iD Guarantee - if we ever go over an 8:1 ratio, you get a free week of camp!

Adult-Only Instructors

iD Tech Camps recruits energetic, experienced instructors to teach our technology courses and supervise our students. Our summer staff is adult-only, with no Counselors-in-Training.

Personalized Instruction

Courses are personalized to students' abilities, and therefore suitable for beginner to advanced levels in most cases. Because of the ridiculously small ratios (max 8:1 or a free week with the iD Guarantee), instructors have time to consistently work with students 1-on-1 and adjust curriculum to their interests and experience level.

Project-Based Curriculum

We encourage a hands-on approach to technology; students learn by doing. Each student is provided with a computer and learns to work with the same products that professionals use in their fields. Students complete a project showing off their new technology skills by the end of each weeklong session they attend. By focusing on practical applications of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills, iD prepares students to take their new tech knowledge back into the real world.

Staff at this Location

Meet some of the amazing instructors that have taught at Bentley University over the years.

  • “Gizmo”: Gizmo brings 10 years of experience in the summer camp industry to iD Tech Camps.  She graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Recreation Management from James Madison University, focusing her studies in Summer Camp. Her lifetime goal is to visit every National Park, and fortunately she loves a good road trip.
  • “Shaggy”: Shaggy recently graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Instructional Technology.  He is a returning instructor with iD Tech Camps.  He specializes in the development of web content for eLearning projects, as well is in playing six degrees of Kevin Bacon with near-perfect accuracy. In his spare time, he freelances as a web designer and eats competitively.
  • “Zip”: Zip is a senior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute dual majoring in Computer Science and Interactive Media and Game Design.  He’s a returning instructor and loves sharing his passion for technology with students.  In his spare time, he spends many hours programming, many more hours playing games, and devotes whatever’s left to his writing.
  • “Clymb”: Clymb is a student at Bridgewater State University where he has completed 3 years of a double major in Graphic Design and Photography. His passions are travel and rock climbing, both indoor and outdoor. He has spent several years working at other summer camps, and is excited to share his love of technology with iD Tech Camps students.
  • “Fender”: Fender is from Chelmsford, Massachusetts and is going into his junior year at Clarkson University. He is studying Software Engineering, and he hopes to write the programs future campers will be using some day! In his free time, he loves to play his acoustic Fender guitar.

Testimonials From Bentley University

What Parents Are Saying

My daughter’s instructors made learning fun. She learned quite a bit and finished the week with a beautiful looking website with animations. Ginger W., parent, Bentley University

We’re extremely grateful for an outstanding tech type of camp for children who are more into their computers/devices than sports. Liz T., parent, Bentley University

The staff were incredibly positive, upbeat and used humor very effectively. The kids learned SO much in such a short amount of time! This is a testament to the camp and the staff. Tania H., parent, Bentley University

I was most impressed with two things: How in a short span instructors were able to teach my son, who had no experience, something about programming and get him working on a meaningful project, and second, how much fun he had with it. Nathan L., parent, Bentley University

I was very impressed with the organization on opening day of camp. The director and all counselors and had excellent social/interpersonal skills. Our son feels he learned a great deal. Nice job iD Tech Camps. Eric M., parent, Bentley University

What Campers Are Saying

I loved camp! It was fun and awesome, and I will never forget the great times. This was the best summer ever because I went to iD Tech Camps. Thomas S., student, Bentley University

I had an awesome time during my first week at iD Tech Camps! I plan on coming back next year because it was SO awesome! Adam K., student, Bentley University

I liked the idea of learning a programming language but I never thought it would be fun. iD Tech Camps has changed this opinion because now I really like programming and I think this is because of iD Tech Camps. Brendan T., student, Bentley University

iD Tech Camps is a great place for all kinds of gamers; whether you’re a PC gamer or a console player, a great time is always had here. It is a great place to meet people with similar interests. Chris S., student, Bentley University

“Great” is the only word I can use to describe this camp. I enjoyed learning about gaming and was able to think creatively with help from staff. Every activity was entertaining and enjoyable. Saishravan S., student, Bentley University
