Our summer kids camps and teen camps are designed for beginner to advanced learners. Our popular Smith College summer day camps and overnight camps average 6 students per instructor for customized instruction delivered by highly trained adult-only staff. About Smith College

We have chosen Smith College to host our academic kids summer camps and teen camps in Massachusetts because it is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation.

Getting to Campus: Our specific location on campus at this Massachusetts summer camp, along with maps and driving directions, will be found in your Camp Account after you register. Our summer camps in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, New England are located in the spirited city of Northampton in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley. The closest airport is Bradley International about 35 miles south near Hartford, making Smith the perfect Day Camp and Overnight Camp location.

Student Population: Currently, Smith is the largest privately endowed college for women in the nation. There 2,600 undergraduates on Smith’s campus, and 250 students abroad.

Rankings: Even though Smith is a relatively smaller college, it currently employs 285 professors in 41 different academic departments and programs. Such a high number of professors brings the faculty to student ratio to 9:1, leading to highly personalized instruction. Granting its own undergraduate engineering degrees, Smith has become the first (and only) U.S. women’s college to do so (note: males are able to attend iD Tech Camps at Smith!). By combining the basics of multiple engineering branches of learning, Smith’s Picker Engineering Program offers a single ABET (Accredidation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited Bachelor of Science in engineering science. As an incentive to achieve high marks, Picker students who maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 (along with a GPA of 3.5 within their major) are automatically admitted to graduate engineering study at Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University, Tufts University, or the University of Michigan.

Athletics: Smith’s student athletes compete in NCAA Division III play and unlike many Division I programs, athletes at Smith are given the opportunity to play several of the College’s 14 intercollegiate sports. These include: crew, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, equestrian, field hockey, skiing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball and squash. Smith drives to ensure students have ample opportunity to physical activity and also offer 12 club sports, intramural activities and individual instruction in more than 20 activities.

There is a long list of talented women of have passed through Smith’s doors, including: General Counsel of Pennsylvania Barbara Adams; Miss Deaf America Erin Casler; founder of Miss Hall’s School Mira Hinsdale Hall; award-winning author Martha Southgate.

Camp Activities for Kids & Teens

Age appropriate fun for kids 7-12 and teens 13-17. Students will receive an average of 5-6 hours of technical instruction per day mixed with breaks, lunch, and fun camp activities we like to call TechReation. Participation in activities is encouraged, but optional. Physical activities may include ultimate Frisbee, capture-the-flag, fun teambuilding games, soccer, etc., and other camp activities like Guitar Hero®, video gaming tournaments, social time and more. Each week wraps up with family showcase at 2:00 PM on Friday. Check out the cool projects created by students, meet the instructor, and attend our diploma ceremony.

Attention Smith College Teens! Our summer camps in Massachusetts at Smith College just got even cooler for our teen students. We have specialized teen activities including free time to hang out, movie nights, extra project time, and as always, plenty of gaming. Weekend Stays

Stay the Weekend at iD this Summer!

Weekend Stays and Ultimate Gaming Weekends are offered at many iD locations.

Weekend Stays / Ultimate Gaming Weekends are great options for students looking to bridge the gap between two weeks of camp or for students who want to stay and game with us the weekend following their camp week.

Overnight students ages 12-17 at iD Tech Camps, as well as those registered for our Teen Academies (ages 13-18), can bridge the weekend between consecutive overnight camp weeks. As an exception, overnight students ages 10-17 at Stanford University may also participate. The cost is $349 per weekend and is all-inclusive (housing, meals, supervision, gaming, activities, etc). This offering only applies to overnight students and is not stand-alone.

Not a serious gamer? We’ve got you covered. You can take it easy in the labs, play retro games, read a book, play outdoor sports, or just keep a low profile.
