iD Tech Camps invites you to join us for our first season at our University of Utah location in Salt Lake City, UT. Our summer kids camps and teen camps are designed for beginner to advanced learners. Our popular University of Utah summer day camps and overnight camps average 6 students per instructor for customized instruction delivered by highly trained adult-only staff. Founded in 1850, the University of Utah is the state’s oldest and largest institution of higher education, offering more than 100 undergraduate and over 90 graduate degree programs to over 29,000 students.
We offer a variety of cutting edge summer camp courses for kids and teens including video game design, Flash animation, programming, video editing, and more–using the best brand name products from Adobe®, Apple®, Autodesk®, Microsoft® and beyond. Schools and Colleges at the University of Utah: Primary colleges at the university include the College of Architecture & Planning, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Fine Arts, College of Health, College of Humanities, College of Mines & Earth Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Science, College of Social & Behavioral Science, College of Social Work, David Eccles School of Business, S.J. Quinney College of Law, and the School of Medicine.
Student Population: The University of Utah’s student body is comprised of about 28,000 students, made up of about 21,526 undergraduates and 6,685 postgraduates.
Rankings: With the only accredited medical school in the state, the University of Utah’s medical school was ranked 51st in the nation for medical research by the U.S. News and World Report. The university’s College of Law was ranked 45th in the nation and the College of Engineering graduate program was ranked 62nd by the 2009 U.S. News and World Report.
Athletics: The Utes compete in 7 men’s and 11 women’s varsity teams. Sports offered include baseball, basketball, skiing, football, golf, and swimming for the men and basketball, cross country, skiing, soccer, gymnastics, softball, tennis, swimming, track and field, and volleyball for women. In 2002, U.S. News and World Report listed 20 schools on their College Sports Honor Roll, and the University of Utah was one of those schools. As part of the Mountain West conference, the Utes compete at the NCAA Division I level. The University’s basketball team made the Final Four in 1998 and lost in the Championship game to Kentucky. Utes football went undefeated in the 2004-2005 season and won the Fiesta Bowl that same year. This is historic because with this, the University of Utah became the first team from a conference without an automatic Bowl Championship Series bid to go to a BCS bowl game.

Camp Activities for Kids & Teens
Our Salt Lake City summer camp provides age appropriate fun for kids 7-12 and teens 13-17. Students will receive an average of 5-6 hours of technical instruction per day mixed with breaks, lunch, and fun camp activities we like to call TechReation. Participation in activities is encouraged, but optional. Physical activities may include ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag, fun teambuilding games, soccer, etc., and other camp activities like Guitar Hero®, video gaming tournaments, social time and more. Each week wraps up with family showcase at 2:00 PM on Friday. Check out the cool projects created by students, meet the instructor, and attend our diploma ceremony.
Attention University of Utah Teens! Our summer camps in Utah at the University of Utah just got even cooler for our teen students. We have specialized teen activities including free time to hang out, movie nights, extra project time, and as always, plenty of gaming. Check out our other cool teen-only programs like the iD Gaming Academy, iD Visual Arts Academy, iD Programming Academy and Ultimate Gaming Weekends (offered at select locations).

Weekend Stays
Stay the Weekend at iD this Summer!
Weekend Stays and Ultimate Gaming Weekends are offered at many iD locations.
Weekend Stays / Ultimate Gaming Weekends are great options for students looking to bridge the gap between two weeks of camp or for students who want to stay and game with us the weekend following their camp week.
Overnight students ages 12-17 at iD Tech Camps, as well as those registered for our Teen Academies (ages 13-18), can bridge the weekend between consecutive overnight camp weeks. As an exception, overnight students ages 10-17 at Stanford University may also participate. The cost is $349 per weekend and is all-inclusive (housing, meals, supervision, gaming, activities, etc). This offering only applies to overnight students and is not stand-alone.
Not a serious gamer? We’ve got you covered. You can take it easy in the labs, play retro games, read a book, play outdoor sports, or just keep a low profile.
