iD Tech Camps invites you to join us for our 7th season at our University of Virginia location in Charlottesville, VA. iD Tech Camps is America’s #1 summer computer camp and one of a handful of elite summer camps in Virginia. Our summer kids camps and teen camps are designed for beginner to advanced learners. Our popular University of Virginia summer day camps and overnight camps average 6 students per instructor for customized instruction delivered by highly trained adult-only staff.

About University of Virginia

We have chosen the UVA Campus to host our summer academic camps for kids and teens because U.S. News and World Report ranked UVA the nation’s best public university. It has remained at the top of that annual list ever since, five times named top public university and every other year vying for that top slot with UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan.

UVA is located 110 miles from Washington, DC, and 68 miles from Richmond in the small thriving city of Charlottesville. Charlottesville, located in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is home to 40,000 people in the city and 145,000 in the larger metropolitan area. Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport is located 8 miles north of the City of Charlottesville, 1 mile west of Route 29 on Airport Road.

About Our Courses

We teach the coolest courses including video game design, Flash animation, programming, video editing, and more–using the best brand name products from Adobe^®, Apple^®, Autodesk^®, Canon^®, Microsoft^® and beyond. Come explore the college campus and gain technical skills that will last long after summer camp ends. Do something big.

Our students receive the highest caliber technology education any technology summer camp has to offer! Our method of project-based learning highlights our 1-on-1 instruction, and above all, is loads of fun. Students learn at their own pace in small groups of an average of 6 students per instructor (compared to 30 students in an average classroom). Students at iD are taught only by hand-selected adult staff.

Camp Activities for Kids & Teens

Age appropriate fun for kids 7-12 and teens 13-17. Students will receive an average of 5-6 hours of technical instruction per day mixed with breaks, lunch, and fun camp activities we like to call TechReation. Participation in activities is encouraged, but optional. Physical activities may include ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag, fun teambuilding games, soccer, etc., and other camp activities like Guitar Hero III^TM, video gaming tournaments, social time and more. Each week wraps up with family showcase at 2:00 PM on Friday. Check out the cool projects created by students, meet the instructor, and attend our diploma ceremony.

Attention Virginia Teens! Our summer camps in Virginia just got even cooler for our teen students. We have specialized teen activities including free time to hang out, movie nights, extra project time, and as always, plenty of gaming.
