Teen Programming Camp: Course Description
In our teen summer programming camps, you'll learn the advanced programming in C++ and/or JAVA, utilizing the powerful compiler Microsoft® Visual Studio®. (Instructors may opt to teach iD Tech Camps' C++ or Java curriculum.) Learn advanced college level topics including various types of algorithms (searching, sorting and recursion), abstract data types (stacks, queues, linked lists, AVL trees) or learn how to create your own REAL and eye-catching WINDOWS applications with buttons, checkboxes and more. Advanced students may even learn how to create real world TCP/IP applications like chat servers/clients, networked multiplayer games, or create amazing animations with OpenGL.

Who should take this course?
This is a specialty teen programming course designed for the ambitious programmer. If you are considering majoring in computer science or if you are interested in other disciplines requiring significant involvement in computing, such as software development or the coding behind video games, this is the perfect summer camp course for you! Previous computer programming experience is required. If you have already taken iD Tech Camps' Programming in C++ or Java course and have mastered our most advanced level, this course is right for you. Because this is an intensive course for older, more experienced students, the group may decide to continue to work on projects instead of participating in alternative activities on occasion. If you are a teen and interesting in Game Programming, you may also want to consider the iD Gaming Academy.

How We Teach
iD Tech Camps students receive the highest caliber technology education any summer camp has to offer! Students in this summer camp for teens will be able to move along faster and more independently, or collaborate utilizing our customized lessons—while still receiving our gold standard 1-on-1 instruction (average 6 students per staff). Using the latest in hardware and software, our all-adult staff works hands-on with each student from project theory to completion (you won’t find counselors-in-training at iD). Repeating this course over several weeks?
Our curriculum in this programming camp is designed so that students can return for multiple weeks, taking their skills to a new level. Our new curriculum is designed for beginning through advanced learners, allowing each student to move along at their own pace with customized lessons for a fun and appropriate challenge. It is not uncommon for students to stretch their skills in this course for 3, 4, and even 5 consecutive weeks. Below is an example of how your student’s skill level may increase by enrolling in this teen programming summer camp course for multiple weeks.
