RoboContenders
Working in small teams, students in this summer robotics camp will use the VEX® Robotics Design System to compete in fun real-world challenges like robo-soccer, obstacle courses, capture-the-flag, tag, maze solving and much more! Each day will bring a new challenge, and your team’s robot will have to morph to better adapt and compete. Advanced students will have the opportunity to learn about building complex robotic sensors, advanced robot arms, drive trains and programming “smarter” robots.
This season we have new kits and a more advanced parts inventory, including treads, sensors and accessories to help you take your skills to the next level. Robotics is the main portion of this summer camp, but each student will be given a brief introduction to the Easy C™ programming language. Finally, students will take home and upload video of the week’s battles, competitions and collaborative teambuilding events. Welcome to internalDrive. Do Something Big this summer!

Featured Software
Students in this summer robotics camp for kids will use the VEX Robotics Design System, a system that is both user-friendly and powerful. This is the same system used in major regional and national robotics competitions. VEX is also often found in high school and university-level classes. You will build awesome robots, calculate gear ratios and program robots to move on their own! Learn more about other cutting edge products used at our summer camps.

Ready to Robo-Charge Your Summer? It’s Your World!

Gaming Activities: Gaming Tournaments, Ultimate Gaming Weekends
General gameplay is a fun aspect of our summer camps, but does not infringe on instructional time. This season will feature Gaming Tournaments and Ultimate Gaming Weekends showcasing the industry’s best. We use NVIDIA® GeForce® gaming cards for peak gaming performance. Students will play BIG titles from Epic Games®, Activision®, THQ®, Microsoft® GameStudios™ and more. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for our campers, we have adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games with ESRB ratings of “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature to be used as part of our curriculum in a supervised environment. We take our corporate responsibility and iD family values very seriously, but cannot guarantee that younger students will avoid complete contact with these games. Please know that we make every effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups.
Note 1: Gaming does NOT infringe on instructional time.
Note 2: Games with ESRB Ratings of E, T and M are used at our camps.
Attention Teens!
Check out the iD Programming Academy, a two-week intensive teen-only programming academy. Also, make sure to check out the Teen Scene at our teen camps as well as our other courses at iD Tech Camps.
Skill Level & Ages
Designed for beginner to advanced learners ages 10-15. Curriculum is customizable and tailored to the student’s level.
What’s New?
New curriculum! Each season we overhaul our robot obstacle courses and we’ve also added challenges that will require autonomous robot actions for a greater emphasis on programming. We’ve also made an investment in brand new kits with additional parts. Roll up your sleeves, brainstorm with your team and get your hands dirty building robots at our summer robotics camps.
How We Teach
Industry Leading Curriculum & Instruction
Average 6 Students per Staff for Personalized Learning
We maintain an average of just 6 students per instructor. The small ratios ensure personalized instruction and the highest caliber technology summer camp experience. Students at iD are taught only by hand-selected adult staff.
Adult-Only Staff – No Counselors-in-Training
Our entire staff is comprised of adults age 18 and over. iD Tech Camps has respectfully created a no Counselors-in-Training (CIT) policy at our summer technology camps. Students learn best from adults who have mastered their skills in technology. Instruction is delivered by graduate and undergraduate students majoring in the fields of Film, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Education, Media Arts, and other related fields.
Beginner to Advanced
Our ever-evolving curriculum is designed for beginning through advanced learners, allowing students to move along at their own pace with customized lessons for a fun and appropriate challenge. We use award-winning brand-name software.
Weeklong Courses
Students focus on one course topic per week. Our weeklong kids camps and teen camp courses provide students with a firm understanding of their course topic. Many students enroll in multiple weeks of summer camp by exploring many different course topics.
