The Scoop - Overview
Working in small teams, students in this summer robotics camp will use the VEX® Robotics Design System to compete in fun real-world challenges like robo-soccer, obstacle courses, capture-the-flag, tag, sumo wrestling, maze solving and much more! Each day will bring a new challenge, and your team's robot will have to morph to better adapt and compete. Advanced students will have the opportunity to learn about building complex robotic sensors, advanced robot arms, drive trains and programming "smarter" robots. This season we have new kits and a more advanced parts inventory, including treads, sensors and accessories to help you take your skills to the next level. Robotics is the main portion of this summer camp, but each student will be given a brief introduction to the Easy C™ programming language. Gaming Activities: Gaming Tournaments, Ultimate Gaming Weekends
General gameplay is a fun aspect of our summer camps, but does not infringe on instructional time. This season will feature Gaming Tournaments and Ultimate Gaming Weekends showcasing the industry’s best. We use NVIDIA GeForce® gaming cards for peak gaming performance. Students will play BIG titles from Epic Games®, Activision®, Blizzard® Entertainment, THQ®, Microsoft® GameStudios™ and more. In order to offer the most cutting edge experience for our campers, we have adopted the policy of allowing the use of some select games with ESRB ratings of “E” for Everyone, “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature to be used as part of our curriculum in a supervised environment. We take our corporate responsibility and iD family values very seriously, but cannot guarantee that younger students will avoid complete contact with these games. Please know that we make every effort to minimize exposure to any games not appropriate for these age groups.
Note 1: Gaming does NOT infringe on instructional time.
Note 2: Games with ESRB Ratings of E, T and M are used at our camps.
