A Family-Owned Summer Camp
Top Workplace for Three Years in a Row!
For the third year running – 2010, 2011, and now 2012 – iD Tech Camps has been named a Top Workplace by the Bay Area Newsgroup (publisher of the San Jose Mercury News)! Reaching a Top 5 position among small businesses, iD keeps employees and campers inspired and motivated, rolling out a number of new programs each summer. This includes compelling camp courses in line with the latest tech trends, prestigious university locations held on some of the country’s most respected campuses, and even initiatives that impact daily life outside of summer camp like One Camper One Tree.
Celebrating 15 seasons in 2013!
As a distinguished family-owned and operated company, our summer computer camps are widely respected for paying close attention to the details YOU care about: risk management, hand-selected staff, personalized instruction, and new friendships forged in a stimulating, collegiate setting. We blend the nostalgia of traditional summer camps with our visionary technology programs. Our company, internalDrive, comprises the flagship iD Tech Camps brand, along with the iD Gaming Academy, iD Visual Arts Academy, iD Programming Academy, and iD OnSite.
Our Unlikely Story

In 1999, in a studio above a garage, we began with a simple mission. Concerned with growing a better world for our children, we set out to ignite the internalDrive in our students. Today, more students enroll at iD Tech Camps than any other tech camp. Nobody has dedicated their lives, passion and focus to this business like our team. We have a commitment to deliver the best. This is the iD Difference.
We strive daily to realize the core values that guide us:
- Inspiration: Ignite new interests and ideas while satisfying current curiosities
- Determination: Encourage empowerment and personal expression through technology
- Education: High-caliber, hands-on instruction exploring relevant software and curriculum
- Awareness: Illustrate how technology can impact our world through STEM principles
- Leadership: Develop strong technical and life skills that extend past “camp”
We set expectations high – your children deserve that. It’s time to expect more. If you choose just one summer program, we hope you seriously consider iD. Welcome! We also invite you to read a letter from the president of internalDrive, Inc.
The Launch in 1999
In a tiny studio nestled in the mountains surrounding California’s Silicon Valley, our family met to address the pressing need of technology education for kids and teens. Our solution: to present the finest technology instruction, delivered in a summer camp setting and held at prestigious universities. Since our inception in 1999, managing quality and safety has been paramount. Our coveted leadership position in the summer camp industry is a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
