Students at iD Tech Camps receive the highest caliber technology education any technology summer camp has to offer! Our method of experiential project-based learning highlights our 1-on-1 instruction, and above all, is loads of fun. Students learn at their own pace. This is not school! This is summer camp! But, we also feel we are in a unique position to teach each student at a faster rate because we guarantee a maximum of just 8 students per instructor (compared to 30 students in an average classroom). Students at iD are taught only by hand-selected adult staff.
Small Course Sizes – A Computer for Each Student
In order to ensure the highest level of quality hands-on instruction, we guarantee a maximum of just 8 students per instructor. Additionally, students learn more quickly because they don’t have to share a computer; they are able to focus on completing their very own project during the week, but also work in a collaborative team setting for maximum learning.
No matter if you choose iD Tech Camps, iD Gaming Academy, iD Visual Arts Academy, iD Programming Academy, the experience will involve a maximum of 8 students per instructor, so you can explore your own path, at your own pace.
Customized Curriculum
We’re celebrating our 15th season and pursuing the most significant revamping at iD Tech Camps in the past 14 seasons. Students will be able to move along faster and more independently, or collaborate utilizing our customized lessons, while still receiving our gold standard 1-on-1 instruction (maximum 8 students per staff).
Our new curriculum is designed for beginning through advanced learners, allowing students to move along at their own pace with customized lessons for a fun and appropriate challenge. As students advance their skills during the week, they will choose their own path to build on the skills that THEY want to learn about. Don’t worry, you won’t see students at iD Tech Camps simply utilizing online tutorials to learn our curriculum. Our instructors instruct! Students are challenged to stretch their creativity while they gain new and exciting technology skills.
Want to learn after camp? At iD Tech Camps, you can! Our live iD instructors will be teaching fun, educational lessons each month after camp ends. The best part? There are no additional fees.
Week-long Courses at iD Tech Camps, and Two-Week Courses at our Teen Academies
Our week-long kids camps and teen camp courses are designed to provide students with a firm understanding of their course topic. Students focus on one topic per week. Some students choose to enroll in one course topic for multiple weeks, allowing them to delve deeper into the course software and maximize learning in their chosen topic. There are also many students who attend camp for multiple weeks, yet enroll in a different course topic each week. This provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in more than one field, who want to gain experience in multiple disciplines. Our Teen Academies are a pre-college experience. They last two weeks.
Adult Only Staff – No Counselors-in-Training
iD Tech Camps has respectfully created and maintained a no Counselors-in-Training (CIT) policy at our summer technology camps. We feel that students learn best from adults who have mastered their skills in technology, not from teenagers of camper age. Our entire staff is comprised of adults age 18 and over. Many of our instructors and directors are graduate and undergraduate students majoring in the fields of Film, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Education, Media Arts, and other related fields.
