The World's #1 Tech Camp

Our Family

Our Year Round Staff at iD Tech Camps

A Top Workplace – 3 Years Running

iD has been voted a Top Workplace for the 3rd straight year by the Bay Area News Group (publisher of the San Jose Mercury News). iD has a crazy, heartfelt culture that allows employees to experiment, create, have fun, tackle challenges—and innovate. From our staff in the main office to our educators out at summer camp—we strive for excellence. Our legacy of being the World’s #1 Tech Camp is not one we take for granted. We know that if we treat our people in an amazing way, it correlates to the best camps on the planet.

Who runs iD year-round? Meet our family!

Some say, “it takes a village to raise a child”. Many agree that it takes “parents” to raise a child. At internalDrive, we think it takes a “family.”  We consider ourselves fortunate to be a part of your family each summer, and we thank you for the trust you place in us by sending your family to our camps. We are a “family company” by the true definition – the family founders are still at the helm. But our definition of “family” extends well beyond the expected definition.

So, how do you raise a “camp” anyway? We feel it takes a family do to this as well, and we are privileged to have a working family that anyone would be honored to be part of. Please allow us to take a few minutes to introduce our “family” to you…

Founding Family

The epitome of Energy, Entrepreneurship, Encouragement, and Excitement… our Founding Family has taken us on an “E Ticket” ride! Mom and Dad keep an eye out behind the scenes, providing guidance and sage advice as needed, along with lots of laughs and hugs for their extended “family” of 60. They don’t need to do a lot, though, because they raised their owns kids so well that owners Alexa and Pete have all the skills needed to keep this ride running on track every day. Pete and Alexa have created an environment that truly fosters the “internal drive” within us all. And, they don’t stay confined to the office. You’ll often see Pete roaming the country during the summer, visiting camps; and both have been known to throw down with the students during the special 4th of July gaming tournaments. Hang on and enjoy the ride!!

Regional Managers

Our Regional Managers are veteran, full-time, year-round industry professionals. Each team member is responsible for managing a small set of universities (average of 6), hiring the most uniquely qualified staff, surpassing our quality assurance benchmarks and ultimately ensuring the best experience for our students. They train summer staff IN PERSON, visit every site and are available 24/7 for students, staff and parents.

Client Services

Our Client Services Department consists of iD Experts world renown for their unbeatable and unmatched customer service! We are driven to provide the highest level of customer service in everything we do here at iD. We believe in quality and integrity at iD. We set ourselves apart by treating our clients like we want to be treated. We actually pick up your call during business hours, and if we’re closed you can bet that you’ll receive a call back next business day. We personally respond to all client emails within one business day – no email black hole at iD. And let’s not forget about our award winning personalities – give us a call and you’ll hear our smile. As a team, Client Services has a combined educational background in Education, Business Administration and making people smile! The way we treat our clients is just a glimpse of how we run our camps. If you ever have any questions about camp, give us a call. One of our Program Advisors will be happy to speak with you! Our toll free number is 1-888-709-TECH (8324), option 1. Or email us at info@internalDrive.com.

Marketing

The Marketing Department is responsible for getting the word out about iD Tech Camps, the iD Gaming Academy, the iD Visual Arts Academy and the iD Programming Academy. We can be found calling advertising reps, putting the details on our refer-a-friend program, updating content for our website, and generally getting the word out about the coolest tech programs in the country. With 60 locations nationwide, our team is always busy – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Payroll

Meet the Payroll Department! They make sure all 55+ year-round staff, and nearly 600 summer staff members get paid on time. Just look at the map of where we hold our tech camps and you’ll see right away how many details are bouncing around in their heads at any given moment. With so many states and changing tax laws it’s a wonder they can ever get out of their office, yet Kacey is seen every Friday out at our Stanford University location, helping out the summer staff . When not calculating checks, they step in to help anyone who asks, from HR, to Accounting, to the Web Department, or to Marketing. Team spirit lives on in Payroll! This department also makes the best brownies ever. No joke.

Human Resources

internalDrive has a fun and unique family culture. The Human Resources Department is responsible for working with management to attract, hire and retain dedicated employees that will thrive in our culture and contribute to the development of it. We also ensure that our employees enjoy not only traditional benefits, but also non-traditional ones distinctive to iD. From team building events to taco feeds to Guitar Hero….iD’s got it all! Looking for full-time employment or an awesome summer job? We invite you to consider iD.

IT/Application Development

The IT and Application Development Department is integral in keeping the iD engine running smoothly and effectively. On the IT side of things, we provide corporate and summer staff IT support, Network administration and Security, and the tech tools for our summer staff to succeed. Then there’s application development, including: maintenance, quality control, and support. A lot goes on in this busy dual-department, but they always have time to visit other departments for a quick chat or joke. We depend on them for laughs, glitch-fixes, and so much more!

Field Support

We are here to provide support not only to the RM team but the summer staff as well. We have the honor of ensuring that the trainings and camps receive all the items needed to run efficiently! In the process we have fun in picking out new iD paraphernalia, packing and shipping. No detail is too big or too small. Field support’s goal is to “provide everything in a box on time” to each site, so that the camp staff do not have to scramble and do lots of shopping before camp starts. We are the people to call if you have any issues with the phones, computer hardware inventory and supplies out at computer camp.

Administrative Services

This team’s first response is always, “sure we can do that.” Their great attitudes and responsiveness are always appreciated by staff and clients alike. The Administrative Services team implements numerous daily administrative tasks with gusto. They make certain iD meets the quick response standards we’ve set for ourselves. They ensure our client database information is accurate and up-to-date; they fulfill tens of thousands of catalog and registration confirmation requests each year; most importantly, they guarantee every university is prepared to house and feed thousands of iD campers each week during the summer.

Accounting & Finance

We add, subtract, multiply and divide. We work hard and have fun all at the same time. We produce stellar financial reports that enable the team to make iD Tech Camps bigger and better every year. We love what we do and we love where we do it!

Web & Creative

iD’s Web & Creative Team is comprised of true creative types. At their core they crave freedom, excitement, variation, and the ability to make an impact. Boy, do they. The team’s contributions are showcased through numerous venues. They create visual images that set iD apart from any other summer camp or computer camp. Our website and all collateral is designed in-house by this team. iD holds itself to high standards. And, this team translates those messages with beauty and polish to the world.

Strategic Programs

Merriam Webster defines “strategic” as necessary to the initiation, conduct or completion of a critical plan. The Strategic Programs team is hard to characterize and they like it that way. This nimble team is called upon to support other teams and initiatives whenever needed. Their flexibility, agility and arsenal of skills serve the entire organization. They manage functions that cover a wide range of objectives. They ensure compliance with multi-state youth camp regulations. They engineer all company planning events. They flank anyone, anywhere at any time.

Curriculum Development

The rubber hits the road with the Curriculum Development team. Tasked with creating curricula and lesson plans for more than 25 iD Tech Camps courses, and 15 iD Academy courses, the curriculum team first has to instruct the instructors, then eloquently impart technical wisdom to over 20,000 iD students each season. Whether having to deconstruct the process for giving the Big Eye Alien eight directions movement in Fusion, or creating a simple analogy for a complicated for/while loop in C++, the curriculum commandos are the reconnaissance team, special forces, and diplomacy ambassadors all rolled into one.
