Director
(Reports To: Regional Manager)

SUMMARY

Directors are the onsite representative of iD, responsible for fostering a FUN environment in which students are able to learn new technology and think creatively! With the support and guidance of a nationwide team, the Director leads a team of instructors in the day to day program operations. In addition to maintaining the satisfaction of all students, parents, staff and university contacts, the Director will act as the Camp Health Officer and will administer all camper medications and perform camper health assessments. Maintaining a safe, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere is crucial. At locations with an overnight program, he or she is required to stay on campus.

CERTIFICATION AND TRAINING

  • Attend in person and online Regional Staff Trainings
  • Lead weekend onsite orientation session
  • Complete ALL paperwork and training requirements
  • Become acquainted with all courses, products, and software
  • Obtain both CPR and FIRST AID Certification prior to training
  • May be required to be fingerprinted (based on location)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Administrative:

  • Assist with location set-up, tear down and product inventory/assessment – ability to lift 50lbs
  • Plan and execute an organized check-in each session
  • Plan, organize, and participate in indoor and outdoor activities for students
  • Meet weekly Quality Assurance measurements
  • Maintain positive staff and student morale
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned by your manager

Supervisory:

  • Ensure that staff and students are meeting curriculum goals
  • Conduct mid season and end of season performance reviews of staff members
  • Apply behavior management techniques to enforce rules and safety regulations
  • Ensure appropriate supervision ratios are maintained
  • Act as an emergency substitute for sick/absent Instructor
  • Be continuously available to staff and students while on duty
  • Escort students to and from dining halls – traveling up to 1 mile

Health, Safety, & First-Aid:

  • Supervise all students and maintain a safe environment
  • Execute an organized camper medication check-in and check-out each week
  • Administer all camper medications with 100% accuracy
  • Maintain accurate, up to date medications and health log
  • Respond to and document critical incidents – have good hearing, eye sight, mobility, be able to operate emergency exits
  • Perform CPR and FIRST AID

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Word and Excel. Directors must have strong organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively via email, cell phone, and hand-written documents. In addition, the candidate would also have a background working with kids and teens. Previous camp or managerial experience is required. The ideal candidate would have a college degree in a related field. Some jurisdictions require Directors be at least 25 years old (by the start of camp). Knowledge of computer networking and/or curriculum software is a plus.

Lead Instructor
(Reports To: Director)

SUMMARY

The Lead Instructor is an experienced and highly qualified technical Instructor that assists the Director with technical support, motivating staff, creating a FUN learning environment, project back-ups, and administrative tasks. Acting as a role model for their team, a Lead Instructor is in charge of continuously supervising students, and maintaining a safe atmosphere. At locations with an overnight program, the Lead Instructor is required to stay on campus.

CERTIFICATION AND TRAINING

  • Attend in person and online Regional Staff Trainings
  • Attend weekend onsite orientation session
  • Complete ALL paperwork and training requirements
  • Learn software and curriculum for multiple courses prior to onsite orientation
  • Obtain both CPR and FIRST AID Certification prior to training
  • May be required to be fingerprinted (based on location)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Administrative:

  • Assist with location set-up, tear down and product inventory/assessment – ability to lift 50lbs
  • Assist with check-in each session (may include leading icebreakers, directing parents, processing paperwork, etc.)
  • Act as Director while Camp Director is on scheduled breaks
  • Meet weekly Quality Assurance measurements
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned by your Director or Regional Manager

  • Prepare lesson plans, and teach a class with up to 8 students
  • Assist Director in ensuring all students in the program are meeting curriculum goals
  • Plan and participate in indoor and outdoor activities for students
  • Assist Director with maintaining positive staff and student morale
  • Ensure proper project back-up procedures are followed by all staff
  • Apply behavior management techniques to enforce rules and safety regulations
  • Escort students to and from dining halls – traveling up to 1 mile

Health, Safety, & First-Aid:

  • Supervise all students and maintain a safe environment
  • In lieu of Director, administer camper medications with 100% accuracy
  • Maintain accurate, up to date medications and health log
  • Respond to and document critical incidents – have good hearing, eye sight, mobility, be able to operate emergency exits
  • Perform CPR and FIRST AID

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate would have expertise in two or more areas of technology pertinent to the program. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate flexibility, energy, positivity, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills. A background working with kids, teens and camp experience is highly recommended. The ideal candidate would have completed 2+ years of college and previous iD experience. Applicants under 18 will not be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMY POSITIONS
The desired candidate would have demonstrated ability to work with teens and experience teaching complex concepts.

iD Gaming Academy: Qualified candidates will demonstrate expertise in game design and development. A portfolio that demonstrates technical skill with Autodesk® Maya®, Unreal® Development Kit, Unity game development tool or game programming with C# and the XNA® Framework is required (depending on course interest). An interest in gaming trends is a plus. Professional or published game title experience is highly desirable.

iD Visual Arts Academy: Qualified candidates will have worked as a professional in video production or commercial photography. Instructor will have advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro® and the Adobe® Creative Suite® programs, including After Effects®, Photoshop® and Lightroom®. A portfolio that includes publicly screened film work or professional photography is highly desirable.

iD Programming Academy: Qualified candidates will demonstrate expertise in programming applications. Instructors will have advanced knowledge in Objective C, C++, Java, PHP and other development tools, such as iOS® and/or Android™ SDK. Work samples that include professional project work is highly desirable.

Health & Safety Coordinator
(Reports To: Camp Director)

SUMMARY

The Health & Safety Coordinator will foster a safe and secure camp environment acting as the Camp Health Officer and Risk Manager of the camp. Duties include storing, handling and administering all student medications, as well as performing routine camper health assessments and maintaining the first aid station. In addition, the Health and Safety Coordinator will ensure proper supervision ratios, assess risk in camp activities, and take necessary safety precautions.


CERTIFICATION AND TRAINING

  • Attend in person and online Regional Staff Trainings
  • Attend weekend onsite orientation session
  • Complete ALL paperwork and training requirements
  • Obtain both Advanced CPR and FIRST AID Certification prior to training
  • May be required to be fingerprinted (based on location)

Assistant Director
(Reports To: Director)

SUMMARY

The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Director in ensuring iD’s high standard of excellence in day to day operations! He or she must motivate staff, plan activities, set-up routine staff meetings, handle concerns, setup labs, and create a FUN learning environment. In addition to maintaining the satisfaction of all students, parents, staff and university contacts, the Assistant Director may act as the Camp Health Officer and will administer all camper medications and perform camper health assessments. Maintaining a safe, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere is crucial. At locations with an overnight program, he or she is required to stay on campus.

An Instructor is responsible for creating the ultimate iD experience! This includes fostering a FUN and SAFE environment while helping students learn new technology and think creatively. In addition to creating an engaging learning environment, an Instructor is in charge of continuously supervising students, leading games and activities, and maintaining a safe atmosphere while on duty.

  • Attend weekend onsite orientation session
  • Complete ALL paperwork and training requirements
  • Learn software and curriculum for multiple courses prior to onsite orientation

(Reports To: Director)

SUMMARY

The Activities Coordinator plans and leads social activities on nights and weekends to help foster a FUN environment. In addition, the he or she will ensure proper supervision ratios, assess risk in camp activities, and take necessary safety precautions. The Activities Coordinator works closely with the Director to maintain the satisfaction of all students in the program. This is an overnight position and all Activities Coordinators are required to be available during nights and weekends.

  • Attend weekend onsite orientation session
  • Complete ALL paperwork and training requirements
  • Learn iD’s Activities Curriculum prior to onsite orientation
  • Obtain both CPR and FIRST AID Certification prior to training

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Our Summer Programs

We offer 4 types of summer programs. Will you be working at one of them this summer?

iD Tech Camps offers day and overnight camps that strike the right balance between off-computer activities (creative games, sports, life skills, etc.) and essential cutting-edge technology education to foster STEM skill development (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). We cover cool topics from video game design to iPhone® app development, Flash® animation, programming, video editing, web design, robotics and more. Most courses are for beginner to advanced learners.

The iD Gaming Academy offers a 2-week intensive program in the dynamic worlds of game development, game programming and level design. Academy courses are geared for beginning to advanced teens ages 13-18. Using industry-standard applications like Autodesk® Maya® Unlimited, Adobe® Photoshop® and XNA® for the Xbox 360®, our video game camp is taught by top instructors with game development portfolios. Students also tour a major game development studio.

The iD Programming Academy offers 2-week sessions of intensive study in computer science programming. Gain a deep understanding of application development-and a broader knowledge of how programming can be applied to the real world. The iD Programming Academy is perfect for students with previous programming experience who are looking to take their code to a whole different level.

The iD Visual Arts Academy is a two-week, overnight, teen-only program. All graduates leave the Academy with a portfolio and the tools to excel in the rapidly changing field of visual arts. Students will also take fun, supervised excursions and visit nearby studios to see how the pros work.
