Teen Scene and Teen Summer Activities
Gaming Tournaments / Teen Socials / Teen Camps
Our Teen Scene is designed to provide teens with a more independent experience while giving them a taste of life on a college campus. iD’s Teen Scene Camp is unlike any other summer camps for teenagers and is geared toward youth ages 13-17. Please note the sample camp activities are for teen programs at iD Tech Camps. Please go directly to the iD Visual Arts Academy, the iD Gaming Academy, or the iD Programming Academy for additional teen programs.
Teens enjoy extra privileges appropriate for their environment and maturity levels. While we maintain standard supervision ratios, teens will still feel a sense of freedom. Teens may be allowed to travel in groups within local boundaries and time constraints with the understanding that these privileges may be enjoyed only if they remain responsible. Our supervising staff will always be in the nearby vicinity and will visually check-in with teens periodically. Teen Scene activities will vary by location depending on enrollment and available university facilities.
Two Main Elements to Our Teen Summer Camp & Teen Scene Programs
Gamingpalooza and Gaming Tournaments
Teen Scene summer camp activities will include computer gaming tournaments and Gamingpalooza that showcase the industry’s hottest teen games. Past tournaments have featured BIG titles like Team Fortress® 2, Portal™ 2, and more. and more. Games rated “T” for Teen and “M” for Mature may be used and will be selected at the sole discretion of iD Tech Camps.
Gaming Tournaments allow teens to connect with other iD Tech Camps locations across the nation to battle for title of Regional Champion! Gaming Tournament winners will be posted online so students can show their friends for bragging rights! Please note: tournaments DO NOT infringe on instructional time.
Socializing with New Friends
We recognize that teens want to socialize and have “time to hang” with their friends; therefore, we offer special activities with teens in mind. Teens may be given time to socialize at the local café, Jamba Juice, or student union. They may also have a chance to visit the campus bookstore or take a campus tour to get an edge and start planning for college. Teens may also choose to spend extra time in the lab to enhance their weekly tech projects (at specified times) and may be given extended “lights out” hours.
