Teen Summer Programs

Immersive Courses in Video Game Development, Programming, Film and Photography

Each two-week iD Teen Academy (iD Gaming Academy, iD Programming Academy, and iD Visual Arts Academy) gives students the opportunity to build essential skills in an intensive, pre-college environment while interacting with professionals and using industry-standard products. These overnight programs for ages 13-18 provide the following benefits:

Gain A Competitive Edge

iD Gaming Academy and iD Visual Arts Academy students participate in portfolio building workshops for two nights each week. Each student finishes their program with an online portfolio including samples of their work and a bio page. iD Programming Academy students work using real-world software repository systems and graduate with full download access to retrieve their projects after their sessions.

Receive Continuing Education Units

Students at all Academy locations can earn Continuing Education Units from Stanford University and Villanova University. These units assist with pre-college advanced placement and demonstrate that a participant has completed course content with college level difficulty.

Interact with Industry Guest Speakers

Students get a feel for possible careers by meeting with industry professionals and learning tips on how to break into their field of choice. Depending upon the Academy location, students can also tour big name studios.

Participate in Free Online Workshops

Monthly online workshops are available exclusively for iD alumni of the previous season and students registered for the current season. Workshops are taught by iD program instructors and give students the opportunity to expand their knowledge base. Sessions teach lessons with key software like Fusion®, GameSalad®, and Dreamweaver®.

Learn from Professionals

Our Academy staff consists of top-tier instructors with impressive professional backgrounds. Depending on the Academy, you might be working side-by-side with artists who have experience at Electronic Arts, learning from instructors who have worked for Microsoft® or Lockheed Martin, or shooting films with staff who are credited on blockbusters like Black Hawk Down and Minority Report.
