Fun Summer Camp Activities

What do we do when we’re not in the labs?

If you’re looking for fun ways to spend summer, look no further! We are a summer computer camp, but are we in the labs all day? No! Balance is the key to every week at iD. You’ll definitely get your fill of fun things to do this summer! While we are in the labs a majority of the day, we certainly take time out for outdoor activities. Please note the sample camp activities are for iD Tech Camps. Please go directly to the iD Gaming Academy, the iD Visual Arts Academy, the iD Programming Academy or iD OnSite for specific details on these additional programs. iD offers an array of fun things to do for the summer!

While we encourage students to participate in our organized sports activities, students also have the option for chess, board games, cards and other traditional summer camp activities, not to mention new cutting-edge digital activities. Students will also be able to bring out their inner rock star with Guitar Hero® at our camps. We wrap up the week with the Friday Finale and some special activities – iD Style!

Activities will vary by location. Here are some sample activities:

Sports
Students at iD Tech Camps enjoy activities such as Ultimate Frisbee, soccer, Capture-The-Flag, swimming (at select locations) and other sports. Each day there will be time to take a break from the computer labs and stretch your legs outside with summer fun, sports and activities.

Games
Don’t like sports? No problem! Try chess tournaments, board games, a card game or Guitar Hero® with your new friends from camp. The university game room is always a popular spot for unwinding, playing pool or ping-pong. Overnight students may watch a big screen movie right in the dorms!

Be Entertained
You can count on our instructors to entertain with talent shows, raffles, team-building exercises, and group games. We’re experts at introducing fun into the week.

Teen Scene
Our Teen Scene activities are designed for students ages 13-17 and provide teens with a more independent experience, while giving them a taste of life on a college campus. Check out our cool teen activities.

Gaming Tournaments
As a summer computer camp of the 21^st century, we do realize that students also want to experience some of the latest and greatest in technology. We offer Gaming Tournaments with some of the biggest game titles from Activision®, Blizzard® Entertainment, Electronic Arts®, Microsoft® GameStudios^TM and more. At designated times, students will have the chance to play single-player, multi-player and network games for cutting-edge fun. For even more tech-fun, overnight campers get ready for movie night, talent shows, additional gaming competitions, and the ultimate university experience. Activities are divided by age and interests whenever possible. Note: Gaming Tournaments DO NOT infringe on instructional time.

Friday Finale
The last day of each week is full of fun! Creative instruction time and Friday Tech Challenges in each course are followed by an afternoon of fun activities such as a picnic, water games, a raffle for camp prizes and an award ceremony.

Family Showcase
Share in the experience! Each week, iD Tech Camps cordially invites family and friends to tour our labs, meet our staff, and experience projects created by our students. This event is the perfect opportunity to experience the excitement of camp, provide instant feedback to us, and experience each tech course first-hand. Family Showcase is held every Friday from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at every campus.
